Preview This game is a shining example of how there is always something worth playing for in the Super 14 tournament. These two teams no longer have their Super 14 destinies in their own hands. Their possible participation is depended on other results going their way – although it also requires them to continue winning. However what is interesting in this game is that they are playing to avoid being the worst New Zealand team in the tournament a fact that has not slipped by the two teams unnoticed. It means they are playing for pride as much as anything else.

The veteran utility forward was speaking after replacement wing Tane Tu’ipulotu kept the Chiefs’ Super 14 play-off hopes alive with a decisive try two minutes from time in their 28-23 win over the Waratahs in Sydney on Friday. Cranbrook rugby disgrace
NEWS.com.au – Apr 27, 2007
article-tools –> By Andrew Chesterton April 27 2007 12:00am NE of the state’s most exclusive private schools has been plunged into scandal with 26 students suspended after being caught drinking on a rugby trip to South Africa. The Daily Telegraph can reveal Cranbrook School in Bellevue Hill has taken dramatic action against students in Years 10 11 and 12 after they were caught drinking alcohol on a three-week five-game South African tour. Senior pupils with leadership roles have "surrendered” their privileged positions at the elite school. It is believed the incident stems from a post-match barbecue hosted by parents and teachers of a South African team Cranbrook had played. The older Cranbrook boys had drank a beer each as part of the celebrations and when they returned to the hotel some of the younger boys on tour wanted to get into the spirit of the evening and also started drinking.
