As reported in Gulf News last month the new stadium is set to be constructed just beyond Dubailand on Al Ain Road and is due for completion in November 2008. In a statement released yesterday Emirates confirmed that it had been asked by the government of Dubai to proceed with the provision of a new facility to host rugby in the city after plans for the new Meydan Racing City development revealed that it would include land currently occupied by Dubai Exiles Rugby Club and Dubai Country Club. The new facility will include tennis courts squash courts and swimming pools along with six rugby pitches able to house 40000 spectators (with 10000 permanent seats and 30000 temporary seats).

Emirates is to build new sports venue to host the 2008 Dubai Rugby Sevens it announced today. The airline title sponsor of the rugby sevens said it has been asked by the Government of Dubai to proceed with the provision of a new facility in response to the recently announced Meydan project. The Meydan project will involve the extensive redevelopment of a large amount of land including the area that currently occupied by the Dubai Country Club and Dubai Exiles Rugby Football Club the current venue for the rugby sevens.

It quickly become his favorite aspect of life at Niagara University. Lately the sport has started to afford Jochen much more. Jochen who will be a senior captain for the Purple Eagles in the fall played well enough at a series of tournaments and tryouts in May to earn a spot on the Northeast Rugby Union Men’s College All-Star team for the second straight year. He also made a good impression on one of the selectors Paul Keeler who coaches the ld Blue men’s rugby team in New York City.
