sportsdigitalcontent. In 2003 the Wallabies were handed fifty points by the All Blacks in Sydney in a corresponding match. Later in that year’s Tri-Nations the Wallabies pulled it back to a four point deficit in Auckland and then they promptly toppled the perennial World Cup favourites in the semi-final of the 2003 showpiece by 22 to 10. And tomorrow’s Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup clash is once again a part of that self-same process for skipper Stirling Mortlock and coach John Connolly in 2007 another World Cup year. “I look back to 2003 and we actually had some pretty bad results against the All Blacks that year and when it came to the semi-final we still had the belief and the ability to implement our game plan to get a result on the night” Mortlock told the Australian Associated Press.
Are the Boks justified in sending an under-strength squad?
New Zealand Herald – Jun 29, 2007
The average height and weight for black and coloured Saffas are around 1. We have huge development programmes for rugby in SA. Whenever a promising non-white rugby player emerges they are usually fast-tracked into top rugby they are physically and mentally not yet ready for. How many of the non-white players have you seen come and go (quickly) over the years. Top rugby can be terminally dangerous if you are not ready. Having said that there are great non-white players coming through without political interference.

sportsdigitalcontent. Turinui has signed on for one year in Brisbane with options to extend and with the opportunity to play in his preferred position of inside centre. Turinui still only 25 has not featured in a Wallaby Test squad since winning his 20th Test cap in 2005 and not once under John Connolly’s reign as Wallaby coach. But Queensland coach Phil Mooney believes the move will give the player a chance to show once again what he is worth. “I think our program will certainly assist him there and a new environment he’s been around NSW for a while now” Mooney told the AAP.

Within that model runs a 1st and 2nd XV rugby squad. The 2nd XV runs parallel to that of the 1st XV and is designed to allow player movement between the two squads. Within the rugby academy model there are several players enrolled on the RFU advanced apprenticeship Scheme (AASE) in partnership with Bristol Rugby Club. Beneath the 2nd XV runs a rugby development centre which is not part of the Rugby Academy model.
