Brett Stewart was called into the squad when Minichiello first started complaining about spasms in his troublesome back ahead of Luke Patten from the Bulldogs. Stewart’s form has been excellent in 2007 and his try-scoring potential and speed have seen him talked about in rigin circles for some time. Minichiello had until later this afternoon to prove his fitness but failed the late fitness test forcing the selectors to hand Stewart his first cap. At this stage there are no more details about how long Minichiello is likely to be sidelined but it would appear unlikely to be more than one week at this stage.
