Japan were humbled 51-3 by the Junior All Blacks on Sunday for their fourth defeat of the Pacific Nations Cup including a 71-10 thrashing by Australia A. The hosts also lost to Fiji and Tonga with their sole success a narrow 20-17 victory over Samoa. However Kirwan said Japan had not lost hope for September’s World Cup where they will face Australia Wales Fiji and Canada in Pool B. “We are going to the World Cup to win every game we play” he said.
