Rugby: France gets ready for World Cup with 2nd defeat of England

Yannick Jauzion scored the only try of the game early in the second half on Saturday. Jean-Baptiste Elissalde the scrum half converted it and kicked four penalties. Frédéric Michalak also kicked one as the World Cup host dominated the defending champion. Jonny Wilkinson kicked three penalties for England which has lost 15 of its last 16 matches on the road.

Although England escaped without any serious injury they did nothing to suggest they had a serious chance of retaining their title at the World Cup starting in France on September 7. France by contrast were in confident mood after beating their arch-rivals for the second time in as many weeks.
