“Marty always conducts himself in a professional manner. It is sad to see Marty leave us but he goes with our best wishes. He is a humble person and epitomises what is great about Waikato and Chiefs rugby. “He has represented his province franchise and country with distinction. His consistent form over his many seasons in a position which puts huge demands on his body must be commended. “Marty will be missed by our supporters our organisation and his team mates. In the meantime supporters will still get to enjoy our determined number 7 at work for Waikato in the remainder of the Air New Zealand Cup competition.

Kenya was better – Uganda rugby coach
New Vision – Aug 14, 2007
Infront of 6000 noisy home fans Kenya scored six tries to Uganda’s two as their bigger forwards completely bullied the smaller Ugandan forwards winning several scrum balls and effortlessly picking up Uganda’s line outs. The ‘up and under’s’ from the booming boot of the Kenyan fly-half Lavin Asego completely unsettled full-back Brian Tabaruka who had problems getting under the high ball. Quick-fire triesKenya went into an early lead with three unanswered tries and a penalty to lead 20-0 in the first 20 minutes. Cranes momentarily fought back into the game off an Allan Musoke converted try and a Robert Seguya penalty to end the half 20-10.
