The sculpture will reflect the results of a poll of fans to name the club’s best ever player.

With horse racing in Australia cancelled since Saturday the TAB here will lose about $4. 5 million from three days’ lost revenue Racing Board racing manager Michael Dore said. Scotland started their final warm-up match before the World Cup in encouraging fashion and were rewarded for their enthusiasm when Paterson kicked them ahead in the 10th minute. However tries in quick succession from Bryan Habana Jaque Fourie and Fourie du Preez effectively ended the match as a contest before half-time. Scotland valiantly pressed for a way back into the game but despite managing to run in four tries against Ireland a fortnight previously they could find no chink in the Springboks armoury.

sportsdigitalcontent. Thomas had 20 stitches inserted into three separate gashes on his face and eventually left the field on a stretcher “dizzy” and “exhausted” on Sunday. It was inspirational leadership from Thomas – but it could not stop Wales sliding to defeat as France dished out a lesson in clinical finishing. And Wales know spilled claret alone will not be enough if they want to make any kind of impression at the World Cup. Senior player and Gareth’s namesake Jonathan Thomas said afterwards that he couldn’t have asked for more from his skipper.
