Adding extra spice to the tournament will be the return of the USA who will compete in the Dubai Rugby Sevens for the first time in almost a decade. Nigel Melville USA Rugby’s CE and President of Rugby perations is thrilled his team will be back in the thick of it when the IRB Series gets underway at the Dubai Exiles Rugby Club on November 30th. Melville said: “USA Rugby is delighted to be back playing in the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens a tournament which will undoubtedly present our developing Sevens squad with a massive challenge.

The Warehouse had been selling Waikato scarves in their stores this month unaware of the WRU’s trademark for the red yellow and black trade mark registration. A Warehouse spokesperson has confirmed that they have instigated a total recall of the offending scarf and will be disposing of these in line with the WRU’s request. Following an initial appointment in November 2001 for the period to the conclusion of the Six Nations 2004 and then in September 2003 for a four year period to include Rugby World Cup 2007 and the 2008 Six Nations Championship; the IRFU has now invited ‘Sullivan to continue in the role for another four years cycle encompassing Rugby World Cup 2011 and the Six Nations Championship of 2012. Philip Browne Chief Executive of the IRFU said today: “We are delighted to come to agreement with Eddie ‘Sullivan that he should continue as National Coach for a further four years period. As in pre World Cup 2003 we believe today’s announcement is a timely indication of our faith and confidence in the National Coach and his playing squad as they are in final preparations for the upcoming World Cup in France.
