I’m an ex league player and in fact an ex rugby player I’m so glad that Rugby League is in fact getting some recognition that it deserves. The Warriors have been in the competition for a few years now and usually all I hear within my work is people bashing them and League itself that is until like at present the Warriors start playing well.

Hain steps into rugby trains row

Welsh Secretary Peter Hain said he would be writing to train service provider First Great Western. The game is scheduled to begin in the Millennium Stadium at 2000 BST but currently the last train from Cardiff to London will leave at 2030 BST. A First Great Western spokesman said extra trains were "being looked into". The Rugby World Cup 2007 which begins on 7 September is based mainly in France but four games are being played in Cardiff including the quarter-final on Saturday 6 ctober.

Red Rock of Fiji and Marist St Joseph Rugby Club of Samoa who won the tournament in 2003 and 2004 respectively are making a return after a year’s break. Combined ld Boys’ Rugby Association (Cobra) president Datuk Krishnan Tan said that the presence of the sides would make the tournament which offers a total purse of US$33000 (RM115000) more competitive and interesting. “We have reduced the number of local teams to two from five last year. Some of the teams are world-class and our local clubs are still developing their game” he said.
