She and colleagues analysed “injury exposures” reported by 121 boys’ and girls’ high school rugby clubs during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. They identified 594 injuries over 113 641 exposures with one exposure being one player participating in one practice or match.

Miss a week’s worth and you’d better have a mighty good excuse along with the school’s approval. Liz Dilley former East Kentwood High School and Grand Valley State University student had both. Dilley isn’t a pupil anymore. Now 28 years old she teaches high school art in Fairfax County Virginia and her administration soundly approved her absence.

The home side led 13-3 at half-time with Paul Devlin’s try converted by Gareth Steenson who also kicked two penalties before the break. However head coach Jim McKay was not at the game with the club stating that he was off sick. It’s the first match the Pirates have played since owner Dickie Evans and team manager Adrian Turner announced they would both the leave the club at the end of the season.
