Props Craig Smith (Edinburgh) and Bruce Douglas (Scarlets) hooker Dougie Hall (Glasgow Warriors) and lock Scott Murray (Montauban) were added for the squad session at Murrayfield on Monday. Hadden enlisted the experienced quartet following tough Heineken Cup matches at the weekend. Murray Scotland’s record cap holder was missing from the 35-man squad when it was announced last week but the reprieve gives the Montauban lock hope of adding to his 87 appearances.

The League which will start in April will involve up to 12 teams from across the state and be used as a stepping stone to the A League.
