World Cup-winning England flanker Richard Hill to retire from rugby…

“Like many people I admired the way he came back from two long term injuries to play again for Saracens. “Richard personifies for me everything that is good about a professional rugby player. ” Hill made his debut for the north London team in 1993 two years before rugby turned professional and spent his entire career with the same team. He has made 282 appearances for Saracens and will play his final home game of the regular season May 10 against Bristol with the club planning a celebration for one of its greatest players. Hill has helped the club reach the quarterfinals of European club rugby's prestigious Heineken Cup so he still has the chance to mark his final match by helping the club lift the trophy. Saracens said Hill is in discussions over what role he can perform for the club when he retires. “I have got mixed feelings at the moment because on the one hand I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in rugby while on the other it's also the start of a new chapter in my life” Hill said.
