Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: “The tournament will provide a platform to introduce lesbian and gay sport to new audiences. The first Union Cup was held in 2005 in Montpellier France and then in Copenhagen Denmark in 2007. Woman hurt in street rugby game

The 60-year-old was walking on Main Street in Bridlington when she was hit by a ball thrown by a group of men playing rugby in the street. Two of the men then barged into the woman knocking her to the ground. The incident happened outside Leisure World on the promenade on Saturday. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Nucifora was the leading candidate to replace John Connolly as Wallabies coach before Robbie Deans’ belated job application last December. Nucifora is on contract with the Blues until the end of the 2009 Super 14. He crossed the Tasman after coaching the Brumbies to the 2004 Super 12. Last year he guided the Blues to the Super 14 semifinals.

FNRL: Play rugby union at ‘own risk’

This comes after it was brought to FNRL board’s attention that some Bati reps were injured after playing in union sevens tournaments. As a result the players failed to attend a fitness test in Suva two weeks ago. The elite players are part of the local training squad preparing for the World Cup in Australia in ctober. FNRL chairman Peni Musunamasi said he did not want to stop players from appearing in the 15s code.
