Curl up in front of the TV and watch South Sydney take on Canterbury Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium. Foster who’s staying on the Gold Coast for the premiere of her latest film Nim’s Island has been a close friend of Russell Crowe for many years and has been caught up in his passion for his team and the sport of rugby league. “The Rabbitohs” Foster cheered enthusiastically when the sport of rugby league was mentioned. Foster said she would be one of the many who turned in to Channel 9 to cheer on her team.

That is partly down to facilities and climate which make it difficult to put in quality training but to a large extent it dates back to how players’ skills are developed at an earlier age. advertisementConsequently Lineen saw something opportune in the announcement of the national roll out of a programme promoting rugby in schools coinciding with organisers of Scotland’s Touch Rugby League announcing that the deadline for entries to this season’s Glasgow competition had been extended to try to give more people a chance to sample the sport. “These are key areas for rugby’s development” said Lineen.
