Sixteen teams are expected to feature in the fifth edition of the international sevens tournament in Tangiers north-western Morocco. GA_googleFillSlot( “AllAfrica_Story_Inset” );Half of the 16 including hosts Morocco Tunisia Senegal Côte d’Ivoire Namibia Zimbabwe Kenya and South Africa while some European countries are expected to field their top clubs will come from Africa and the Cheetahs are confident of doing well at the event. There will be five European teams and three Moroccan clubs and a total of 41 matches are expected to be played during the two-day event organised by the Moroccan Royal Rugby Association in partnership with the Confederation of African Rugby. The tournament is also used to rank teams in Africa as it is part of the IRB series.

The 28-year-old full-back or winger who played for America in the World Cup qualifying campaign last year is thought to have agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with Wakefield. Petersen a former player with Parramatta was out of contract at the end of the season played his final National Rugby League game for the Titans against Newcastle on Saturday night. Titans managing director Michael Searle said the club did not want to stand in the way of Petersen taking up an “outstanding” overseas deal.
