18 months of rugby? No worries says Carter
stuff.co.nz – Jun 4, 2008
The test against Ireland here on Saturday barely rated a mention as Carter was swamped by media seeking details on what will be a ground breaking half-year stint in the Northern Hemisphere. Carter is set to sign with the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) to 2011 but only after he finalises the details of his sabbatical. He will play for either Toulon or another French club whose identity he wouldn't reveal. A phone call to Toulon coach Tana Umaga Carter's former All Blacks captain is planned in coming days and a final decision will be made in the next couple of weeks.
