While I was at the spreys academy Garin Jenkins actually converted me from a flanker to a hooker at the age of 18. “I then went on to play for Wales under-19 and under-21 level and since then I’ve been training with the spreys. Jonathan Humphries has obviously had a big influence on me helping with my fitness with my open game and has ensured I know what professional rugby is all about. “Training with the spreys has really brought my game on. Robin McBryde has also helped technically and I’m grateful for that. ”Breeze also appreciates the guidance given by Welsh Premiership side Aberavon. “Aberavon have been brilliant too” said Breeze.

He later linked up with the Welsh All Blacks four years later and was soon drafted into the spreys set-up by Lyn Jones. With Davies having transferred to Sale at the start of the season and with injuries mounting Neath have had limited options in the front row. However veterans Paul Jones and Andrew Howell have performed heroics. Director of rugby Rowland Phillips said: “As we enter a key phase of the season it was important that we moved to strengthen our propping resources. Johnny has a top attitude and his ability to play on either side of the scrum is most useful. “He has a great work ethic and possesses a strong desire to play for his hometown club. We are all pleased to see Johnny return to The Gnoll and anxious to make up for lost time. ”l Neath’s fixture at Bridgend on January 31 will be televised live by S4C.
