Wiki today joined the search for his missing team-mate who is presumed to have drowned after being caught in a rip while rescuing his younger brother in wild surf at Bethells Beach on Auckland's west coastline on Sunday evening. Wiki who flew into Auckland from holiday said he formed a close bond with the 20-year-old Fai because they were room-mates on tour. "To me for the last four years I got to be a part of his life so he is like a little brother" Wiki told TV3. Fai first roomed with Wiki when he was named 18th man for the Warriors' last match of the season against Manly in 2005.

Being a referee is a lonely job; being the only professional ¡X player or ref ¡X brave enough to be openly gay must be lonelier still on rugby union¡s pitches. Being open about his sexuality has done wens no harm. Enjoying his 21st season as a ref he is a television personality in Wales and has just published his autobiography. ¡§When I came out it took a lot of weight off my shoulders that I was accepted that I was gay and it made no difference¡¨ he explains.
