Rugby Rumblings: Bulls Rampage to the Top of the Super 14 Table
Bleacher Report CA -
Well along came the Bulls and they stampeded the Blues and left them battered bruised and well BLUE. Fourie Du Preez is the best scrum half in world rugby at the moment and I think that played the biggest role in the confidence that the Bulls showed. They just scraped home against the least fancied team from the South Island the Highlanders 22-17. The Waratahs are going to be hard to beat at home and it is actually a great result for the Chiefs.

Making sense of the never-ending season
Stuff.co.nz New Zealand -
This was the draw published last week for this year's Air New Zealand Cup competition. Apart from the Sunday News from everything else one could read or hear in the nation's media the repercussions of this schedule went largely unnoticed. Not that the media should be blamed too much for that. What with the start of Super 14 as well as trying to cope with all of the summer sport activity and a truly sensational feat by young golfer Danny Lee the media have had more than enough to gorge themselves.

Matt Giteau says Brumbies are still the enemy as he prepares to …
Fox Sports Australia -
"I’ll be playing footy and the best footy I can to win the game for the Force. "As far as I see them the Brumbies are the enemy. " Giteau was impressed enough with the Brumbies rugby set-up however after talking with Mortlock and others in recent weeks. Asked what the main selling point was Giteau said: "The professionalism of the joint. "Not that this place (the Force) isn’t though. "The guys at the Brumbies I’ve spoken with seem really happy with the way things are going there" Giteau said.

The Lady Ruggers hosted a clinic for high school players at Holuba Hall this weekend and demonstrated an actual game in a team scrimmage. The team ran through a practice while the high school players were at dinner then came together to demonstrate a game in front of the 193 high schoolers. For some of the high schoolers the scrimmage was their first experience of a rugby game. Lady Ruggers coach Pete Steinberg wanted to show those in attendance the Penn State style of rugby. “We tell them at the start we’re going to show you how we do it” Steinberg said. “ne of the benefits of the scrimmage is that they get to see it put into practice. The Lady Ruggers split into two teams one half wearing blue game jerseys the other in gray shirts.

Rugby hero denied access to Pistorius
Independent nline South Africa -
“I chatted to him this morning and obviously he is very sore and very bruised but he is chatty and grateful” said Swartz. Even rugby hero Bryan Habana had to leave a note when he went to visit him. Pistorius was born without his fibulas and had to have both legs amputated below the knee when he was 11-months-old. He astounded the world with speeds he could reach as a sprinter with the help of carbon-fibre prosthetics running close to the times of top able-bodied athletes. But at the same time the International Association of Athletics Federations raised concerns over a possible unfair advantage from the “blades”. Pistorius has won gold medals at the 2008 Paralympics in the 100m 200m and 400m sprints (class T44).
