Moa was involved in an incident at the Marist rugby club on Saturday 28 March where a bottle was thrown hitting a woman. He appeared at a misconduct hearing at the NZRU offices in Wellington today. NZRU General Manager Professional Rugby Neil Sorensen said as well as facing a misconduct hearing today Moa had also appeared in the Auckland District Court today charged with assault and was granted diversion. Mr Sorensen said considering the facts and circumstances of Moa’s conduct and taking the court appearance and outcome into account the incident was deemed to be serious misconduct under the Collective Employment Agreement. He was fined $1200 has received a formal warning and been directed to complete an alcohol counselling programme in full.
