About 500 people gathered for the service at St Anthony’s Church in Beeston Leeds. Mr Walker 20 died in hospital after the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats reserve game against Celtic Crusaders at Maesteg south Wales on 22 March. His coffin was carried into the church by fellow reserve team players. Friends and family made emotional tributes to Mr Walker during the hour-long service.

The French National Rugby League (LNR) wants to ensure that at least 50 per cent of squads are homegrown players in 2010-2011 rising to 70 per cent the season after. “We have adopted a ruling that would allow 70 percent of players to be homegrown from 2011 and also allows the championship to remain open to the talents of the entire world” said LNR president Pierre-Yves Revol. "This measure will also meet the interests of the French national team.
