The teams finally met on the pitch at the University of Northern Colorado Sunday afternoon in the second of three Division I games. Two penalty kicks and a try gave Air Force a thirteen-point lead which they held until the Cowboys scored a converted try late in the half closing the gap to 13-7. In the second half Air Force added twelve more points early and it looked as though they might run away with the game until Wyoming respond with two trys (unconverted) to bring the Cowboys to within eight. The momentum shifted back and forth through the second half.
